What is the difference between a Will and a Living Trust?  What is a LivingWill versus Health Care Power of Attorney?  What documents should I have?  This class provides a detailed understanding of estate planning documents and what their purpose is.  This class will discuss the many reasons to plan your estate such as: 


  1. to avoid probate in Illinois and any state where you own real estate;
  2. to avoid unnecessary death taxes
  3. to provide for your and your family's financial protection during old age and/or disability and
  4. to make sure your property goes to your loved ones at your death and is left to them in such a way you believe is best for them.


This course is designed to make this very complex process easy for laymen to understand and is conducted is such a way to encourage questions and discussions of particular concerns from students.

What is an Executor to Do? What is a Trustee to Do? What is the Difference?

Who can legally be appointed executor and/or trustee?  What are the executor and/or trustee required to do?  How difficult is it?  What is the difference between an executor and an administrator?  What is the difference between an executor and a trustee?  Who has preference under Illinois law to become executor?  These and many more questions will be answered in depth in this class.  The class is designed to encourage questions and to help you understand who is best qualified to act as executor and/or trustee.  It also will provide an in-depth example of the stages of duties required of an executor and/or trustee.  Learn the myths and realities of these positions.
